Gardening with Natives

Updated: May 8, 2019

Oak leaf hydrangeas and a plethora of other gorgeous native shrubs, perennials, annuals, grasses, and ferns are listed with UTK extension and local master gardner sites. Sadly these plants are often difficult to find. the Big Box stores don't sell them and too few local nurseries (in my humble opinion). I'm going to attach a pdf file to this website soon with list of shade tolerant plants and a list of the worst invasive often sold around here. Hope this is useful to you all as you plan your winter gardens' and next years gardens. As always - if you have questions, suggestions, knowledge to share - please reach out and I will share on the blog.
